During a recent interview, Maxine Waters claimed, without evidence, that 70% of women want President Trump impeached. She was fact-checked by Conservative media, and it turns out that there is absolutely no truth to her statements. She interviewed again and changed ‘women’ to ‘Democrats’. Apparently those words are interchangeable for her? Or more likely, she just doesn’t care about facts at all.
“So, Donald Trump says that the reason now – you know, Nancy Pelosi was the reason to vote in 2010 because President Obama, and apparently now you are the reason Republicans should vote in the coming mid-term because of impeachment. Your thoughts?” asked MSNBC’s Joy Reid.
“Well, first of all, he’s absolutely correct that I am encouraging impeachment, but he’s incorrect when he says and implies that at the rallies, people are saying “but he’s done nothing wrong.” That’s not what they’re saying back to me when I say “impeach him,”” says Waters.
“I don’t say “impeach him” quite that way. I say “impeach 45,” and they go nuts, and they agree, and 70% of Democrats in a recent poll said he should be impeached,” said Waters.
The day before, in an interview with Chris Hayes, she had a different statistic. “They say all of these things and I’m not just talking about my district. Whether I am on the airplane, I’m walking down the street in New York – wherever I am, I’m hearing it. And I’m told that 70% of women who have been polled say that they want him impeached,” said Waters.
