During an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’, John Kasich attacked the Republican Party. Then he claimed he can ‘bring that party back. “We should care about people from top to bottom, not just those at the top,” said Kasich, sounding awfully similar to socialist Bernie Sanders.
“I can bring that party back. That’s what I’m going to do in one way or another.” said Kasich. “I didn’t leave the Republican Party. The Republican Party left me.”
He went on to deny that Conservatives have anything against illegal immigration or tariffs. “In my state we have balanced budgets, surplus, we’re up half a million jobs and then people say, ‘Well Kasich’s not a conservative.’ What does that mean? Does that mean I have to be anti-immigrant, anti-trade?” said Kasich.
“I think the Democrats are more energized than the Republicans. The Republicans are going to have trouble in a lot these suburban districts because a number of people who live in the suburbs including women are uncomfortable with what they see,” said Kasich.
Kasich went on to explain that suburban women don’t like President Trump because of his ‘harsh language.’ “They don’t like harsh language. They don’t like division,” said Kasich.
