Judge Jeanine Pirro is hosting a brand new show called “You The Jury”. This will be a show where the viewers themselves can make a real impact on actual civil cases. The show begins on April 7th on Fox. The show has six attorneys Jose Baez, Benjamin Crump, Joseph Tacopina, Areva Martin, Mike Cavalluzzi and Charla Aldous. LaDoris Cordell, former judge of the Superior Court of California will preside over the cases.
According to The Wrap, “after a case has been presented during the East coast and Central time zone broadcast, viewers get about five minutes to vote via text and the Fox Now App. The binding legal decision will be revealed at the very end of the episode.”
“However, when the West Coast votes, if the cumulative votes (East/Central and West coast/Mountain time zone combined) lead to a different verdict, the original verdict will be overturned as the final outcome of the case,” explained The Wrap.
The reason that this is all legal is because the plaintiff and the defendant have signed an agreement to have their dispute settled by “America’s vote”.
Are you excited for Judge Jeanine’s new show? Are you excited to make a difference in real trials? This is a very bold and original idea. Good job Judge Jeanine!
